I feel like we haven't gotten to do much for this baby that is just his. Caroline was our first and so that was exciting. Grayson was the first boy was everything was new. I feel like poor Grant is just getting all leftovers or something. I know babies don't know or care, it is just a different feeling with #3. He is inheriting Grayson's room. We did get a new crib but are using the same bedding. I decided to try getting those wooden letters with his name and covering them with scrapbook paper to match his room. I thought it would make it a little more personal. Unfortunately the day I decided to delve into it our internet was down and I couldn't look for instructions. Well, here is what I did:
Painted the letters white first so that if anything showed through it would be white.
Then I traced around the letters leaving about 1/2 inch around the outside and cut the letters out of the paper. I put the mod podge on the front of the letter and pressed the paper down, trying to keep from getting bubbles. Then I turned it over so the back was facing me. I didn't take a picture of the next part....but I cut little pieces all around the edges so that I could fold them up onto the letters. I used my finger to spread the Mod Podge onto the paper and back of the letters. I know I am so bad for not taking pictures but here is the back of 2 of the letters so you can kinda see how I did the back.
I had to let the back sides dry before turning over and putting the top coat on.I painted the front and sides with the mod podge and let it dry. Here is how it turned out: Now I just need to attach the ribbon to the back and hang them up. That will happen sometime...not sure when :) He will be here by Monday night after all! I will post pictures once we have it up on the wall.

I love these! I know how you feel about the 3rd one not getting any new stuff of their own. I had 1 boy, then 1 girl - so everything new for them! Then my 3rd was a girl so she got all older sister's hand-me-downs!
My 4th is also a girl...so she's got stuff that has been through 2 older sisters!
She loves their old stuff though!
Thanks for linking up to the party!
Cute! I love the paper on the "n"
It turned out very nice.
That is soooo adorable!! I had 3 boys and then a girl. Luckily my 3rd boy is STILL excited to get his "older" brothers clothes...cause those guys are soooo cool ;)
Thanks for sharing!

Oh, these are adorable!! I do have to say I love how large the letters are. I did the name on the wall thing with my son, but I painted the letters. Now I wish I would have done some Mod Podge instead. He's 19 months now, so maybe it's time for a change anyway. ;)
They turned out darling, even though you had no instructions! :)
Supercute. These look great! It is endless with what words you could make! Great job!
I love how they came out and they'll add a special touch to his room for sure! The papers you choose are very nice, a good variety. I don't think it'll matter to Grant that his room is the same as his big brothers now. I think it'll be more important to him to get something personal as he gets older. I'd wait and make the effort for then, I saved everything from my first and if we have another daughter she is so getting the exact same room. I still love it and like I said when the kids are older and want a say in their rooms is the time to do it up really special for them.
Very cute!
Love those letters! So cute! That would look great in my son's room. I love the paper you picked out especially the tractor one.
