Candy House

While we were in DE for Easter, we made a candy house (the box said Bunny Hutch :). The kids did more eating than decorating!! They had fun nevertheless...See....

Maybe we'll try a gingerbread house for Christmas...

Homemade Wipes

What do these things make??

Homemade "clorox" wipes.

You just cut the paper towels (Use good ones, like Bounty or Viva) in half with a serrated or electric knife. It is a little hard to do this part! Then mix about 1/2-3/4 cup Pine-sol with 2 1?2 cups water and pour over the top. Let sit for a few hours and remove the cardboard in the middle. Then start pulling from the middle like any other wipes. Use in the kitchen or bathroom or wherever for disinfecting wipes. I use Folger's coffee "cans" that are the perfect size. You could also use any plastic tupperware type container that is roughly the same size. Saves money and they are quick and easy!

SPIRIT GETS A BATH

In Packing Peanuts.....

Mistreatments

Here are my Window "Mistreatments" ala Nester. For those who don't know about "mistreatments" there is little or no sewing involved. In mine there is NO sewing!!

These are in our bedroom. I just cut the fabric, ironed up the hems with iron-on hemtape. I hung them from curtain clips I got a Wal-Mart for about $10. I got the rods at Big Lots for no more than $10 a piece. Very easy and cheap!!
This is our Dining Room. I am not crazy about it but it still looks better than an empty window. I hot glued the hem on this one (use the hem the hem tape!). I also hot glued the fringe on the bottom. I just draped it over a curtain rod I already had and safety pinned the bottom for a faux Roman Shade look.

This is our playroom. The shade was a kit I bought a few years ago at Jo-anns. It is for a roller shade and you iron the fabric on. I had the fabric to make a valance but Momhadn't gotten around to it. I just tacked it to the wall with uphostery tacks. I hot glued pink pom-pom fringe on the bottom.

These are in our living room. I just ironed the hems...didn't even use hem tape. I clipped them with curtain rings and tacked them up with Upholstery tacks. No curtain rod needed! I draped them on the floor so you can't tell their not hemmed.

Maybe this will inspire some no-sew decorating. They aren't perfect but they are better than bare windows! Browse Nester's sight for tons more ideas!!

Praying For Stellan

We are praying for Stellan today.

First Smiles

Our baby boy started smiling the past 2 weeks. He did a few times while we were in De, but he has really been doing it the last few days. He is starting to "coo" too. Although he usually gets hiccups after he smiles and "talks",maybe he is just refluxing and making faces but it's still pretty cute. I tried to catch him last night on camera but I only got 1 good one....Enjoy :)

Can I interest you in a jelly bean?

We had a great day yesterday. We went to church and Mom, Dad and Janet went with us. After church Jack and Terry came over and we had an egg hunt. The kids had fun looking for the eggs the Easter Bunny hid. Caroline had been telling us she didn't want the Easter bunny coming in her house. She said she wanted him to leave her basket on the porch. We told her we found it on the porch and brought them in. She made sure to tell Grayson that "the Easter Bunny did not come in my house".

Papa Harold got the fun job of cleaning up the aftermath. He had to match up all the eggs so we could put them away.

Here we are before church. Crazy morning! I caught the oven on fire (bacon grease). Smoked up the house and smelled like bacon to go to church :) The kids were hyped up on jelly beans (thanks Pappy Eddy :) and the baby was screaming his head off. We made it out the door and were only a few minutes late to church.....phew!

This is the candy my Dad got for the kids! He made each of them a basket with a TON of candy. We sorted it all and this is the results. We will be saving some for next year. Did you know Peeps have a shelf life of 2 years :)

The loot from the Easter Bunny!

We had a fun day and the kids have had plenty of candy! I beat them up this morning so I need to go make it all disappear before they get up! Anyone want some jelly beans????

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! We serve a risen savior!! Caroline has been telling us that Jesus is not in the "big hole". He is risen. And he is risen indeed. I hope you all know the joy of our Lord!

Corndog Anyone?

After our excursion to the Boonshoft Museum we went to Sonic. Caroline and Grayson are picky fast food eaters. Caroline will only eat salad, yogurt, grilled cheese and hot dogs. Grayson will sometimes eat Cheesburgers or chicken nuggets but it just depends. This limits our choices at a Drive Thru. We decided to go through Sonic and try Corn Dogs. This is the looks on their faces.

They both ate them though. Grayson wanted us to eat his "bread" and then just ate the Hot Dog but he liked eating it on a stick. Maybe next time I can ask for just a Hot Dog on a stick. HMM...

Here is Baby Grant and his reaction to sitting in the carseat while we ate....

Don't worry...I fed him after I finished eating my Corndog, so I guess it was his first Corndog too....sort of :)
